About Ashdown Law

Ashdown Law – Guiding You Through the Legal Process
At Ashdown Law, our mission is simple: to help people through some of the most difficult moments in their lives. We are especially committed to supporting those navigating the St. Louis criminal justice system for the first time.

We understand how confusing and intimidating the process can be. For families who have never had to deal with criminal law enforcement, prosecutors, or courtrooms, it can feel like stepping into another world while your world is falling apart.

We’re here to change that. We fight for your rights, lay out your options, and advocate for the best possible outcome for our clients.

Don’t face the legal system alone. With Ashdown Law, you’ll have an experienced advocate on your side to fight for you. Someone who’s dedicated to protecting your future and guiding you with confidence.

Dylan Ashdown

Dylan Ashdown is the founder of Ashdown Law, where he represents clients in criminal matters in both state and federal courts. Known for his tenacity and deep commitment to his clients, Dylan has extensive experience navigating complex legal issues in high-stakes environments.

During his time at Saint Louis University School of Law, Dylan sharpened his legal skills working on federal criminal cases through the School of Law’s Criminal Defense Clinic. He was also the President of the Street Law student organization and served as a Managing Editor of the Saint Louis University Law Journal.

Before founding Ashdown Law, Dylan served as a public defender in St. Louis County, Missouri, where he handled a broad range of state level criminal cases including murders, drug offenses, assaults, and property crimes. He then joined NewtonBarth LLP where he handled a variety of traffic, municipal, state, and federal level criminal defense matters.

Dylan is driven by his passion for helping his clients, especially those facing the criminal justice system for the first time, navigate the often complex, confusing, and overwhelming legal process.

He received his Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law.

Dylan is licensed to practice law in the following jurisdictions:

  • State of Missouri
  • United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri
  • United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri

Outside the Office & Community Involvement

Dylan Ashdown is heavily involved in the local St. Louis community he calls home. He grew up here (before you ask, he went to Lafayette Senior High for high school), and he wants others to love the 'Lou like he does.

Dylan is a member of the Young Professional's Council for Places for People, a local organization that aims to provide high-quality, recovery-based treatment for mental illness and substance use disorders. He also volunteers with the Tap In Center, a program launched in September 2020, that has helped recall over 2,500 bench warrants.

Outside of work, Dylan spends way too much time on his fantasy football teams, watching tv shows, and spending time with his wife, Daisy, and cat, Chico.
